World Wildlife Week Celebration

The Department of Life Sciences, G.D. Memorial College, Jodhpur, commenced a two-day celebration of World Wildlife Week on 7th October 2025. The inaugural session of the celebration was held in the college seminar hall with great enthusiasm and participation. The Chief Guest for the inaugural day was Professor (Dr.) Renu Kohli, Retired Professor, Bangur P.G. College, Pali; Joint Secretary, Ethological Society of India; and Ex-Education Officer, BNHS. She delivered an inspiring address highlighting the importance of wildlife conservation and the responsibility of every individual in preserving biodiversity. The session began with a warm welcome and inaugural speech by Program Convenor Dr. Vishu Vaishnav, who outlined the objectives and schedule of the two-day program. Professor Dr. J. J. Mishra, Director of the College, extended a heartfelt welcome to the Chief Guest and appreciated the Department of Life Sciences for organizing the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Dr. D. R. Bohra, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their active participation. Students from B.Sc., B.Sc. B.Ed., and M.Sc. (Life Sciences) courses attended the event with great interest. The first day set a positive tone for the celebration, with the second day’s activities scheduled to follow.
