College Parliament Program
Grand Organization of College Parliament Program at GD Memorial Group of College Jodhpur. On the occasion of Constitution Day, a grand College Parliament Program was organized at GD Memorial College. The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Academic Director Dr. J. J. Mishra, Principal of GD Memorial College of Pharmacy Dr. Umesh Kumar Gilhotra, and Principal of Gomi Devi Women’s Teacher Training College Madhuri Ma'am. The session formally commenced after paying tribute and observing two minutes of silence for the people who lost their lives in the recent Delhi blast. The parliamentary proceedings included Question Hour, Zero Hour, and discussions on various issues, in which student parliament members actively raised significant matters and participated in debates. During the session, the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAA) was presented and was passed through a voting process. After the voting, Assistant Professor of Political Science Lakharam Garg and Girdhar Sir discussed the legislative procedure and explained the law-making process in detail. The chief guest of the program, Dr. Chandraveer Singh Bhati, Assistant Professor at Government College Jodhpur, spoke about the Preamble of the Constitution and emphasized the importance of constitutional morality. He also highlighted the significance of India’s glorious cultural heritage in the evolution of the Constitution, while comparing the Indian Constitution with those of other countries. In this College Parliament session, Mamta Kanwar served as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and mic management was handled by Himanshu Rathore Student of BA IST Sem.
